A recently completed painting of Jake's was auctioned at Sotheby's this month, raising money for Freedom From Torture.
Freedom From Torture speaks out to expose torture and defend the rights of survivors internationally and globally, and supports survivors of torture in rebuilding their lives in the UK.
Jake is proud to have been one of over 60 artists taking part in this years Drawing a Line Under Torture 2023. The featured works included pieces from established and emerging artists from around the world. The auction included artworks by two survivors which the charity has worked with, alongside world-renowned names such as Ai Weiwei, Grayson Perry, Kiki Smith, David Hockney, Maggi Hambling, Antony Gormley, Jim Dine, Paula Rego, Mona Hatoum, Quentin Blake and Julian Opie.
A silent online auction was held alongside a live event at Sotheby's New Bond Street on 6th November. So far the event has raised over £275,500 for the charity, with 100% of this to be used in directly support survivors of torture.
