November 2022

The autumn months have been especially busy for Jake this year, as he completed another new collection of oil paintings. Titled Saboteurs, these works took as their starting point traditional hunting scenes from 18th and 19th-century European art.

The entire body of work was shown as part of an exclusive preview event for the 2022 London Frieze art fair, which took place at Unit London in October. Although not open to the public to view at this stage, there is a full exhibition catalogue now available - please click here to view and discover further details about the collection.

In addition to the London event, throughout the autumn months a selection of Jake's works have been sent overseas to join some exciting international projects.

In October, May The Weight Of Stars Be Light For You opened at the Coimbra Contemporary Art Centre in Portugal. Running until 22 January 2023, this exhibition offers the chance to view works by an incredible line up of artists, including Adrian Ghenie, Noé Sendas and Helena Almeida, to name just a few.

Next up, the Art021 Contemporary Art Fair in Shanghai took place from 10-13th November, and featured four oil paintings from the Saboteurs collection, bringing Jake's work to a new audience. Alongside Jake, fellow Unit London artists Ziping Wang, Nicolas Holiber and Jeremy Olso had work on view.

Last but not least, Jake is thrilled to be part of a new group show at the Nassima Landau Art Foundation in Tel Aviv. Two brand new paintings made especially for this exhibition touched down in Israel earlier this month. With the show running from 17th November until 23rd December 2023, this is another fantastic opportunity to see a wide variety of works from 22 internationally based artists - you can find out more by clicking here.

Coming up in 2023, Jake has more International shows confirmed, as well as some exciting plans for new UK based projects. Watch this space to find out more details soon....
