Jake will be spending the summer in the studio putting finishing touches to an exciting body of new work. It is destined for his next show, In Turner's Wake: Contemporary Visions by Jake Wood-Evans, opening this September at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.
Displayed alongside original works by J.M.W. Turner, this exhibition will bring past and present together and provide an exciting opportunity to view historic and contemporary works in the same space. Several loaned items from Tate and Courtauld Gallery have links to the Chatham area, making it particularly interesting from a regional perspective.
Jake has been responding to the Turner works in creating a selection of oil paintings which will be displayed alongside sketchbooks and studies. In Turner's Wake opens with a private view on 17th September and runs from 19th September until 15th November 2026. You can read more about the show by clicking here.
